  • C-Gear Part 3! How to input Friend Codes.
  • Friends are very important in the game…for trading, battles, smack talk, etc.
  • The easiest way to add is to go to your IR Menu and click Friend Code.
  • image
  • There you can point to each other’s Game cartridges and it automatically loads for ya.
  • image
  • image
  • Now, if you have friends that are very far away, you can just input your friend code through the Pal Pad, which you get after helping Fennel in the Dreamyard. But you have to know their Nickname too. Can you just put any name? Not sure, but it seems like it.
  • Find your
  • in the bag.
  • image
  • Click Register Friend Code. (You can also view your own if you want to give it to people).
  • image
  • Input their nickname.
  • image
  • Input their 12-digit Friend Code.
  • image
  • Voila! They should show up when you press Check Friend Roster.
  • image
  • The trainer avatars appear when you connect via C-gear, and the Pal Pad registree will be a question mark until you either battle/trade or “pass by” him/her.
  • Maximum is 32 friends! Because any more than that would be impossible in real life. =P
  • Total Friends: 3

  • C-Gear Part 2!
  • No advancing my adventure tonight, but my brother and I tried this out.
  • Feeling Check under the IR Setting.
  • image
  • I guess it’s a way to check if you’re compatible with the people you meet?? We’ll see. Let’s Begin!
  • image
  • First we have a Rhythm Check. Tap stylus 10 times in any rhythm.
  • image
  • Then this complicated Sync Check. I think my thumbs were too fat because it took me a while to get it read.
  • image
  • image
  • image
  • image
  • And then we find our score. Ta-da!!
  • image
  • Rank D 65??? We got 69 last time. Hahaha. But hey, what’s this?
  • image
  • Sweet! A Sweet Heart!
  • So it turns out this is a rhythm game. If you and your partner match completely, then you probably get a better prize. Rank D gets you a Sweet Heart. Perhaps I shall try it with more people….and find my true love. ❤ 😛

  • Again, I didn’t travel very far, but I did play around and learn the basics of White’s newest feature, C-Gear.
  • It will always display on the DS’s bottom screen. You can customize the user interface. I’ve seen a lot of cute backgrounds for it. Perhaps I’ll get more stuff later when it develops. I got hexagons.
  • image
  • My little brother got hearts. Maybe because he has the girl trainer?
  • image
  • C-Gear is like the ultimate social network for Pokemon. You can locate nearby trainers (they show up on your screen), and actually see what they’re doing. I knew that my brother’s Pokemon had little HP and that he used a Potion, kind of like a Twitter. You can also see what location they are in, like Foursquare. Ok, it’s pretty much facebook.
  • Their profile is minimal, but you get a sense of what the Pokemon population is like and how many hours we’ve wasted on this game.
  • You can also send premade messages and thank people. Yes, I will thank friends randomly for just being in my life. =)
  • image
  • Of course, this allows you to battle, trade, and add friend codes. What sucks is that the limit is 32. Well, what if I have more friends than that?? Not saying I do, but I…could? And also, is there a need for a Union Room now? I have yet to see what trading is like through C-gear though.
  • Still couldn’t link to Gamesync. =(
  • That’s just to start, I’m sure there will be more features as I progress! I love it so far!
  • Total Registered Friends: 2
  • Total Pokemon: 13
